Banner/Oscar Upgrade


OIT has announced a scheduled upgrade for Banner/Oscar Student information systems beginning on Thursday, September 10, 2009.  This will affect users of these and dependent systems.  For further details, please see the announcement below.  There is also a document available here that contains additional information.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Beginning on Thursday, September 10th, and continuing until Monday morning, 8:00AM, September 14th, the Banner Student Information System will be upgraded from version 7.5 to 8.2.


WHO IS AFFECTED BY THIS INTERRUPTION?

This will impact the availability of the following functions and applications during the upgrade process:

•     Admissions Status Application

•     Banner Self-Service

•     Banner INB

•     Bill Payment Suite

•     BuzzCard*

•     BuzzPort*

•     CIOS

•     Data Warehouse*

•     Digital Signage (Tech Square)**

•     Financial Aid Application (GTApp)

•     FASET Registration

•     Grade Entry

•     Grade Correction

•     Housing Online Application

•     Imaging

•     Parking Registration*

•     Parking Fee Upload

•     Reports.gatech.edu*

•     Student Accounts

•     T-Square*

* This application will be available during the upgrade process; however, after September 9th, Banner student data will not be refreshed until September 14th.

** Will not be able to access Banner room assignment data after midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 9th.

Banner Self-Service functions will not be available from 12am on Thursday, September 10th until 8am on Monday, September 14th.

Beginning on Thursday, September 10th, and continuing until Monday morning, 8:00AM, September 14th


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO WHEN THE SYSTEM IS AVAILABLE AGAIN?

Business as usual.  Users should be able to utilize services as normal after the maintenance is complete.
