Unplanned Service Interruption
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
There is an Unplanned Service Interruption Affecting T-Square, Prism, CoM Files.
WHO IS AFFECTED BY THIS INTERRUPTION?
All users of the following systems may be affected:
T-Square ( Sakai )
Prism (including mounting your file shares and direct access to Acme)
CoM - NAS1 mounted files
Effects to these users are:
T-Square users may have trouble accessing the system or will get an error when trying to upload or view any files under Resources.
Prism users need to know that we are running on the "failover" file system. Your access could be affected and file changes may not reflect updates from today.
CoM users cannot access their files on NAS1 until the file system check
(fsck) completes.
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
Storage units that handle files for T-Square, Prism, and CoM (College of
Management) started experiencing difficulty and causing the corresponding files to be inaccessible beginning at about 3:30pm on Monday, October 19, 2009.
HOW LONG WILL THE SYSTEM BE DOWN/SLOW?
Backup storage units should be in place for Prism files; however, they may not be up to date. They should reflect the file status from last night's backups.
CoM and T-Square files may be unavailable until tomorrow morning, Tuesday October 20, 2009. A file system check (fsck) is currently running to ensure the integrity of the file system.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO WHEN THE SYSTEM IS AVAILABLE AGAIN?
Your access should be business as usual; however, you may need to restart your web browser for T-Square access or you may have to reconnect to you network drive or remote share.
