Configuring Evolution to use Exchange

  1. In Evolution, click Edit and then Preferences.
  2. On the Mail Accounts tab, click Add.
  3. Click Forward on the Mail Configuration window.
  4. On the Identity window, fill in your Full Name and Email Address.  Your email address should be in the format <username>@cc.gatech.edu.  Click Forward.
  5. On the Receiving Email window, input the information as follows:
    1. Server Type: IMAP
    2. Server:  campusmail.gtri.gatech.edu
    3. Username:  Your CC username
    4. Use Secure Connection:  SSL encryption
    5. Authentication Type:  Password
    6. Click Forward
  6. On the Receiving Options window, no changes must be made, although it's recommended to allow the program to automatically check for new messages.
  7. On the Sending Email window, input the information as follows:
    1. Server Type:  SMTP
    2. Server:  campusmail.gtri.gatech.edu:587
    3. Check Server requires authentication
    4. Use Secure Connection:  TLS
    5. Authentication Type:  Login
    6. Username:  Your CC username
    7. Check Remember password
    8. Click Forward
  8. Fill out a Name of your choice or accept the default on the Account Management window.  Click Forward.
  9. Click Apply on the Done window.
