Configuring MS Entourage for Exchange

Exchange:


  • Launch Entourage and cancel out any new dialog boxes that pop up.
  • Under the Entourage menu, select Account Settings.
  • In the Accounts window, select New/Exchange.
  • In the Account Setup Assistance window, select Configure account manually.
  • In the Edit Account window under the Account Settings tab, enter info for the following:
  • Account name: CoC GTRI
  • Name: LastName, FirstName
  • E-mail address: useraccount@cc.gatech.edu, where useraccount is your CC AD domain (Windows) username
  • Account ID: CC user account
  • Domain:  cc
  • Password:  If you are familiar with the Mac OS X keychain, enter your CC password and check Save password in my Mac OS keychain.  If you are not familiar or do not wish for your password to be saved, leave the password field blank and do not check the box.
  • Exchange Server: ccmail.cc.gatech.edu/exchange/useraccount@cc.gatech.edu, where useraccount is your CC AD domain (Windows) username
  • Check This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)
  • Click on the Advanced tab and enter the following info:
    • Public Folder Settings: ccmail.cc.gatech.edu/public
    • Check This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)
  • Click OK on the Edit Account window and close the Accounts window.  You should now be ready to send and receive email.

IMAP:

IMAP does not support advanced features, such as calendaring, but is available for basic email connectivity.
  • Launch Entourage and cancel out any new dialog boxes that pop up.
  • Under the Entourage menu, select Account Settings.
  • In the Accounts window, select New/IMAP.
  • In the Account Setup Assistance window, select Configure account manually.
  • In the Edit Account window under the Account Settings tab, enter info for the following:
  • Account name: Exchange
  • Name: FirstName LastName
  • E-mail address: useraccount@cc.gatech.edu
  • Account ID: cc\CoC user account
  • IMAP Server: campusmail.gtri.gatech.edu
  • Password:  If you are familiar with the Mac OS X keychain, enter your CC password and check Save password in my Mac OS keychain.  If you are not familiar or do not wish for your password to be saved, leave the password field blank and do not check the box.
  • SMTP Server: campusmail.gtri.gatech.edu
  • Click on the Click here for advanced receiving options button and check the first and third boxes.  The IMAP port should be either 993 or 995.  You can leave that box unchecked, unless you need to alter the setting.  Close that popup.
  • Click on the Click here for advanced sending options button and check the first three boxes.  The SMTP port should be set to 587.  The authentication should use the same settings as receiving mail server.  Close that popup.
  • Click OK on the Edit Account window and close the Accounts window.  You should now be ready to send and receive email.
