Using a Linux Desktop on a Sun Ray


  1. Find a SunRay.
  2. If the screen displays a small window in the center named "Server Selection", choose one of the servers in the list (gaia, gaia2, gaia3, gaia4) and click OK. This server is where your X server will run.
  3. A Solaris login window will appear.
  4. Click the "Options" button and keep the mouse button pressed down.
  5. Select the "Remote Login" menu.
  6. Select "Enter Host Name..."
  7. Enter the name of one of the Linux desktop servers (tampere or mikkeli).
  8. A Linux desktop login screen will appear.
  9. Login with your CoC account and password.
  10. When you logout the "Sever Selection" window will reappear.
