Wireless/Outland Windows Printing using VPN Access

To print to a CoC print server, you must be attached to the GT network.  If you are not, you will need to connect in, such as through LAWN or VPN.  CoC Faculty and Staff are eligible to use the CoC VPN (Virtual Private Network) service which allows access to internal network services such as printing to CoC print servers.  This is a handy method for Windows users to print using our Windows print server.

Remember, these steps work only for VPN users (currently CoC faculty and staff only).

For Windows users, follow the steps below:

  1. Start the Cisco VPN client and authenticate using your CoC user login credentials.
  2. Select Start - Run and enter in UNC format the name of the print server and printer, e.g. \\ccprint\rosalyn.  Note:  Some users have experienced problems using ccprint.  If you have problems when adding a printer using ccprint, substitute madison instead (e.g. \\madison\rosalyn).

    \\ccprint\rosalyn
    1. At this point, you may be requested to authenticate again.  Input your CoC user login credentials in the format cc\username, where username is your CC domain username, and your CC domain password.
  3. Your default printer is identified in the Printers and Faxes folder with a red check.  To change the default printer, open the printers folder using Start - Printers and Faxes, right click on the printer and select Set as Default Printer .
