Network Switch Replacements

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

Some computers in the CCB will have intermittent network connectivity.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?

Between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, Saturday, November 14, 2009.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?

TSO will replace network switches in the 1st floor North data closet in the CCB with newer hardware.

WHO IS AFFECTED?

This will affect users of computers on the North side of the CCB, including machines in Communications, Office of Outreach, Enrollment and Community, Academic labs, student commons, and some Student Services offices.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

Users should save their work prior to the maintenance period and should be prepared for service interruption during the maintenance period.

UPDATE:
The maintenance period took longer than expected and was not completed until 12:15 AM, November 15. Also, some thin client systems could not connect to the network following the maintenance. That issue was resolved by 9:00 AM, November 16, 2009.
