WHAT HAPPENED?
Wireless networking on campus is experiencing issues.

WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Since Thursday, January 24, 2013.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
Wireless controllers have been failing.

WHO WAS AFFECTED?
Users connected to wireless access points attached to the failing controllers.  Those users may experience poor performance prior to the access point failing over to another controller.  During the failover, the user will lose connectivity until it is connected to a new controller.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Users should consider switching to wired LAWN where practical.  Wireless LAWN users should be prepared for intermittent loss in performance and connectivity.

HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
No.  OIT is working with the vendor to identify the cause of the failures and evaluating options to reduce the frequency and impact on end users.

WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
