The samba server (ccsamba), which serves network home directories, is currently down due to hard drive failure.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
At approximately 3:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2015 and ongoing.


WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
One of the hard drives failed while the array was rebuilding.


WHO IS AFFECTED?
All CoC faculty, staff, and students using ccsamba-served network home directories.

CCsamba home directories


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.

UPDATE:
The restore process is taking longer than originally estimated and is not yet completed.  Currently, we expect the restore to be completed and the server to be available by 5:00 PM today.  We will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available.  


UPDATE:
The restore was completed and access was tested as working as of 2:30 PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2015.  Affected users whose home directories don’t automatically remount may need to reboot their machines.
