WHAT HAPPENED?

College of Computing networking experienced a brief outage.

WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?

College of Computing networking went down at about 5pm, February 3rd. Networking was restored at about 5:10pm.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?

The two routers that serve all College of Computing networking (rich-coc-rtr and ni-coc-rtr) simultaneously crashed and reloaded. The routers came back up on their own and have been stable since. TSO and OIT are monitoring and a Cisco TAC (Technical Assistance Center) case has been opened to identify a root cause of the crash.

WHO IS AFFECTED?

Anyone on a College of Computing network, or trying to access servers or services on a College of Computing network.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

No user action is required.
