Between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, Wednesday, September 23, 2009

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?

The certificate for the general access server ara.cc.gatech.edu will be replaced with a new one. This will require a reboot of the server.

WHO IS AFFECTED?

CoC faculty and students attempting to use ara.cc.gatech.edu during the server reboot.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

Users should save their work prior to the maintenance period and should be prepared for service interruption during the maintenance period. After the reboot, ara services may be accessed as usual.

UPDATE: The server upgrade is taking longer than expected, and services may be intermittent until 7:00 PM September 23, 2009.
UPDATE: After several tests, TSO determined that the main ara server suffered a hardware failure. A hot spare was configured and put in place, and ara was again providing services at 7:30 PM September 23, 2009.
