WHAT HAPPENED?
The server that runs mailman was inaccessible and was not sending mail
Affected servers: newvoreg.cc.gatech.edu
WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
The outage began at approximately 7:15am, February 11th. The mailman service was restored and began sending mail at 8:21am.
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
Memory utilization on the server was at 99%, causing the issues with mailman. TSO is investigating the root cause, but a reboot of the server returned it to working order.
WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users sending mail to a mailman list may have seen delays.
Affected services: mailman
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Mail was queued during the outage and began sending successfully when service was restored. No user action should be required.
