WHAT HAPPENED?
There was a brief networking outage affecting the College of Computing networks.

WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Network issues started at 3:33pm on March 11th, 2022. The network was restored at 4:14pm.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
5 new research servers were connected to 100G uplinks on a switch in the CCB data center. The data ports were misconfigured, causing a networking issue (spanning tree) to propogate out through the CCB networks.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
All users in the College of Computing buildings (CCB, KACB, TSRB, Coda) using wired networking were affected. Users accessing servers located in the CCB or KACB data center were affected.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required. If you are still experiencing networking related issues, please disconnect the ethernet cord and then reconnect. If the issue persists, please reach out to the HelpDesk
