Between approximately 8:30 AM and 9:45 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2016.


WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
OIT's preliminary diagnosis of the root cause was a hardware failure on a network router module line card.


WHO WAS AFFECTED?
Anyone attempting to access GT network resources.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.


HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
Partially.  The network is running in a degraded state.  OIT will attempt to repair the failed card beginning at 8:00 PM, September 17.  More information can be found at http://status.gatech.edu.
