On Saturday, June 28, 2008, beginning at 10:00 AM, the server email2.cc.gatech.edu, which provides email services to CC students as email2.cc.gatech.edu and imap2.cc.gatech.edu, will be backed up and upgraded from Zimbra version 4 to version 5. During this time, all email services provided by email2 will be unavailable. The backup and upgrade process is expected to last several hours and should be completed by 6:00 PM. Email received during this time will be queued and delivered once the server is providing services, again.

Update: The upgrade has been postponed. It was taking far longer than anticipated and could not be completed within the allocated window of time. TSO has returned the server to its normal operating state as of 2:45PM EST, and queued email for students is being delivered. We will re-evaluate the upgrade process for the server, determine a process that can perform the upgrade in a timely manner, and reschedule another upgrade in the near future.
