WHAT’S HAPPENING?
The temperature rapidly rose in the CCB Data Center. To protect them from thermal load, the following servers we temporarily turned off as TSO investigated the cause of the temperature spike.

Affected servers:
sky1
vicki
hal
jarvis

WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
August, 17th, from 9:50AM to 10:05AM.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
Contractors began the process of moving the Emergency Power Off (EPO) button for the CCB Data Center HVAC system without notifying TSO or CoC Facilities. All seven Liebert air handlers went offline and the data center quickly rose to 108 degrees. In an effort to reduce heat and protect servers from thermal load, TSO began powering off systems.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users of the servers listed above were unable to access them during the downtime.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required - all affected servers have been turned back on and work has been halted until further notice.

WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
Feel free to contact the TSO Help Desk (CCB 225D, 404.894.7065, helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu).
