CCB Datacenter Power Outage

WHAT HAPPENED?
Power to the College of Computing Building Datacenter (CCB247) was lost, causing the servers housed there to lose power and shutdown.

WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Servers were reported as offline starting at 8:36am. Power was restore at 10:12am and servers began powering up at this time.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
The Emergency Power Off (EPO) system was triggered accidentally as a result of power work being carried out in the datacenter. TSO and Facilities are currently investigating the core cause further to minimize such impact in the future.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users attempting to access servers in the CCB Datacenter, including some of the College's websites, were unable to connect during this window. TSO is working with users to bring affected servers back online.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
All websites and servers should be returning to normal operation. If you are still unable to connect to a server or resource, please contact the TSO Help Desk.

WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
Feel free to contact the TSO Help Desk (CCB 148, 404.894.7065, helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu).
