WHEN DID IT HAPPENING?

From 5pm through 8:30pm, 12/17/18.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?

In preparation for Tuesday's building-wide power outage, the servers in the CCB machine room were shut down. The NIS/YP master did not fail over properly to the server located in the Klaus data center, causing the websites to become unavailable. 

WHO IS AFFECTED?

Users attempting to access CoC websites, and users attempting to access resources mounted using nfs or autofs.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

No user action is required. A configuration change on the server's local firewall restored functionality around 8:30pm
