WHAT’S HAPPENING?
OIT Networking will perform updates and maintenance on the College of Computing network infrastructure.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
July 25th, 2024, from 5am-7am.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
OIT Networking will perform the following maintenance -

  • Migrate all CoC subnets from the campus2 VRF (Virtual Routing and Forwarding) to the campus VRF. This is due to the campus2 VRF relying on aging infrastructure that needs to be decommissioned (est. 5 minute downtime for all gateways)
  • Upgrade the OS version of the COC-RTR pair to NXOS 10.3.4a for the latest stability and security patches (est. 30 second downtime for all traffic, twice)
  • Migrate CoC firewalls to the newly deployed coc-dept-pa pair that will be solely dedicated to the CoC, a set of PA-5450 chassis’ with 2x Network Cards and 2x Data Processor cards each, capable of roughly 100gbps of threat prevention (est. 10 seconds downtime for all traffic + session end for stateful connections)

WHO IS AFFECTED?
All users connecting to or utilizing the College of Computing networks will experience intermittent disconnects during the outage window.

Affected services:
College networking

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required. If you experience connectivity issues following the maintenance window, please try disconnecting from the network for 15-30 seconds to see if that reestablishes the connection. If the issue persists, please reach out to the HelpDesk for assistance.

WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
Feel free to contact the TSO Help Desk (CCB 225D, 404.894.7065, helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu).
