The CoC student Zimbra server email2.cc.gatech.edu, which also provides services as imap2.cc.gatech.edu, will have a GT-signed certificate installed on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 6:00 PM. This certificate is a new X.509v3 cert, which will support the canonical name of the server and have two SubjectAlternativeNames: email2.cc.gatech.edu and imap2.cc.gatech.edu. Users of the server should either install the GT root cert available from ca.gatech.edu or accept the new cert that the server will provide. The installation should be completed by 7:00 PM.

The installation of the new certificate will require a restart of Zimbra. So, there will be a brief period of approximately 5 minutes within the maintenance window where email services will not be available. Any email received during this time will be queued for delivery.

Update: The installation of the certificate failed, and TSO reverted the server's certificate back to the original. We will diagnose the failure and attempt to install the certificate at a later date.
