The static web content file server esperanto.cc.gatech.edu is in a degraded, read-only state.


WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Beginning at approximately 9:25 AM, Thursday, January 29, 2015.


WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
That's currently being investigated.


WHO WAS AFFECTED?
CoC faculty, staff, and students attempting to make updates to CoC personal webpages (~ pages).


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Changes to data within /net/www should be avoided until the server is brought back to full operation.


HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
No.  TSO is currently copying the filesystem contents to a spare server and will restart esperanto after that's complete.

UPDATE:  Esperanto was rebooted at approximately 8:10 AM, Monday, February 2, 2015.  After an FS check, the file system returned to a fully-operational state and was again providing services by 8:45 AM, February 2, 2015.
