WHAT’S HAPPENING?
As part of OIT Network Services' standard monthly network maintenance window, Network Services will be performing a series of network upgrades and maintenance.

Campus Core Routers - Software Upgrade [CHG0031838]
A double software upgrade will be performed on two campus core routers. Users should be prepared for multiple 20-minute network outages to give time for the routers to reboot. All wired and wireless network connectivity on both the Atlanta and Savannah campuses is heavily dependent on these two routers, so individuals should be prepared for network disruptions during the maintenance window. We estimate the software upgrades for these routers to be completed by 10am.

Campus Border Firewall - Software Upgrade [CHG0031932]
A software upgrade will be performed on the campus border firewall appliances. Most campus networks depend on these firewall appliances for connectivity to the Internet. Furthermore, connectivity to privately-routed public cloud resources (including those in AWS and Azure) depend on these firewall appliances. There may be some brief network disruptions caused by the upgrade, but these are usually minimal as a secondary High Availability (HA) appliance exists to handle traffic while the primary appliance is upgraded.

VPN Tunnel endpoint migrations [CHG0031915]
From 6pm - 10pm, there will be some cloud-based, vpn tunnel endpoint migrations that will cause intermittent disruptions of service to AWS and Azure.

Affected servers:

Campus Core Routers
Campus Border Firewall
VPN Tunnel
