WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
A failed hard drive created an NFS problem on the NIS master server, resulting in corrupt passwd files.


WHO WAS AFFECTED?
CoC faculty and students attempting to access CoC Linux systems.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.


HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
Yes. The drive was replaced and login access has been restored to all affected systems.
