The migration of cinna.cc.gatech.edu's services to cinnamon.cc.gatech.edu on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, caused a stale NFS mount on the configuration management server haven.cc.gatech.edu. As a result, haven couldn't mount a key directory, which caused password files to be incorrectly built. After these bad password files were pushed out to nightly-updated systems, this impacted the ability of CoC faculty, staff, and students to login to affected systems. TSO corrected the problem at 9:45 AM, March 18. Updated password files are being pushed out by hand. All nightly-updated systems should be corrected by 12:45 PM, March 18.
