Update - Mail flow was fixed at 3:40pm, August 7th. Mail sent during the outage window should arrive as the unsent mail queue is processed.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?
Internal College of Computing email utilizing mailhost.cc.gatech.edu is currently not functioning.

mailman.cc.gatech.edu
mailhost.cc.gatech.edu

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Mail stopped flowing around 6pm, August 6th, 2024 and is ongoing.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
TSO is investigating the root cause. Update - mailhost.cc.gatech.edu was unable to read a file during reboot which cause postfix to fail. Removing the file fixed the issue and mail began flowing.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
All mailman lists, outbound email from help.cc.gatech.edu, and scan and send from the College mopiers are currently not functioning. 

This does not affect users using GT email and Office365/Outlook.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Mail has not been lost and should begin flowing once the issue is resolved. Until TSO knows the extent of the issue, we suggest refraining from sending email to mailman lists.
