CoC faculty were unable to login to their GTAD-bound Macs.

Between 4:00 AM and 2:30 PM, Thursday, April 1, 2010.


WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
During a scheduled maintenance window, OIT renamed the Windows DNS servers for ad.gatech.edu. This caused DNS problems for GTAD-bound Macintosh computers.


WHO WAS AFFECTED?
CoC faculty with GTAD-bound Macs.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.


HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
No. However, TSO has manually defined the ad.gatech.edu domain on its secondary DNS servers 130.207.17.21 and 130.207.17.22 as a workaround, which has allowed affected CoC users to resume normal operations.
