WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
Research.cc.gatech.edu was a redundant locally-maintained web service for which there are suitable substitutes on campus.  The platform it used, Drupal 6, had passed its end of life and was no longer a robust, secure platform, so it's content has been migrated to other campus-wide services.  Future content needs will be handled by similar offerings at pwp.gatech.edu and OIT web hosting.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
Only owners of sites that are still on research.cc.gatech.edu, which means there isn’t anyone!  

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Nothing. All sites on research.cc.gatech.edu have already been either decommissioned or moved to new hosting homes.

Over the past few years, TSO has reached out to owners of the sites on this service. When desired, we assisted them in migrating to a dedicated site in a newer version of Drupal on OIT's free Webhosting platform (which gives site owners more control, flexibility and security - including a web application firewall - without loss of functionality). Alternatively, some owners re-created their site on PWP, as it offers an easy-to-maintain Wordpress site.
