Beginning at approximately 9:05 AM, Wednesday, March 4, 2009, some CoC users began experiencing issues with home directories mounted from ccsamba.cc.gatech.edu (this is the H drive on CC Windows desktops). The research server dirac.cc.gatech.edu was experiencing I/O errors. Windows users who had a symbolic link to dirac's hi30 or hi31 drives in the root of their home directory would have experienced slow home directory mounts or failed mounts, in some cases with a permission denied message. Overall performance of ccsamba would have been affected while mounts to dirac were attempted. The server dirac was rebooted and the Samba service on ccsamba was restarted. Ccsamba services were returned to normal at 2:30 PM, March 4.
