WHAT HAPPENED?
Some sites being served from the OIT web hosting server web-plesk5 had sendmail temporarily disabled.
 
 
WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Thursday, April 14, at 8:50 PM until Monday, April 18, 2016, at 9:50 AM.
 
 
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
While OIT was troubleshooting an email issue on web-plesk5, they inadvertently disabled sendmail for most of the hosted sites on that server.
 
 
WHO WAS AFFECTED?
Anyone who attempted to submit forms that utilize sendmail on sites hosted by web-plesk5 during the outage.
 
 
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Site administrators may see which server(s) their sites are hosted on by checking the "Sites You Administer" list on https://hosting.gatech.edu.  Unfortunately, there is no way to recover any failed submissions.
 
 
HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
Yes.
