The servers in the TSRB MDF are being shut down.


WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Beginning at approximately 3:50 PM, Friday, April 4, 2014.


WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
Due to a cooling failure, the temperature in the MDF has risen to an unsafe level.  The servers are being shut down to preserve data and prevent hardware failures.


WHO WAS AFFECTED?
CoC faculty, staff, and students attempting to use the affected servers. Users of svn.cc.gatech.edu.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.


HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
No. Contractors have been called in to work on the issue, but there is no estimated time to resolution available at this time.  Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

UPDATE:
Cooling was restored by 6:35 PM, April 4, 2014.  All systems had been powered back on by 11:30 AM, April 5, 2014.
