WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Affected servers will be offline on Sunday, August 5, 2012, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.  All TSRB machines will be offline for approximately 20 minutes between 9:30 AM and 10:15 AM, August 5.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
APC will be onsite to repair the TSRB MDF UPS.  The server racks powered by that UPS will be without power during the maintenance.  TSO will swap out the supervisor card on the TSRB core switch to upgrade the link from 1Gb to 10Gb, which will cause all TSRB machines to lose network connectivity while the upgrade is taking place.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users of the affected servers and workstations.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Affected users should save their work prior to the maintenance and be prepared for service interruption during the maintenance period.  Some affected users may need to reboot their workstations if their home directories do not successfully remount following the maintenance.

WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
TSO Help Desk (CCB 148, 404.894.7065, helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu).

UPDATE:
