CCAD domain DNS server and Domain Controller carter.cc.gatech.edu will be powered off.  Its IP address will be transferred to curtis.cc.gatech.edu for continued DNS service.


WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Thursday, March 22, 2018, at 9:00 AM.


WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
To retire and replace outdated hardware and software.


WHO IS AFFECTED?
Windows users who login to their computer using CC account credentials rather than GT account credentials.  Users of Linux or Mac computers using the CC DNS servers as primary DNS.  However, there should be zero impact, since all of these computers should have multiple DNS servers configured.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.

UPDATE: Due to unforeseen problems, this maintenance was unable to complete on Thursday, March 22, 2018 and was reverted.  The retirement has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
