WHAT?S HAPPENING?
The main CoC and TSO websites will be briefly offline.


WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
On Tuesday, February 9, 2010, between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.


WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
In order to transfer news and event items stored within the Plone CMS into the new campus wide Mercury syndication system, the base encoding for python within the Zope server needs to be set to UTF-8. This change will require a reboot of the Zope server, which will cause the college and TSO websites to be unavailable for a short period of time.


WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users of www.cc.gatech.edu and support.cc.gatech.edu.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Users editing or submitting content on the affected websites should save their work prior to the maintenance period and be prepared for interruption during the server reboot.
