WHAT’S HAPPENING?
CoC password requirements are changing.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
On Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
As required by the State Department of Audits, the Institute has increased the minimum password length for GT accounts from 8 to 11 characters.  The CoC will change its password requirements to match the Institute, increasing the length from 8 to 11 characters while reducing the required character classes from 4 to 3.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
CoC faculty, staff, and students with a CoC account.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.  As CoC passwords expire on or after March 19, users will need to use the new password requirements when changing their passwords.  To assist in managing passwords, Georgia Tech is offering LastPass to faculty and staff.  LastPass provides a means to manage the creation of very strong passwords and the ability to store those passwords in a single location which is encrypted and available to the user in any location. For details on LastPass, please visit http://faq.oit.gatech.edu/content/lastpass-faq.
