WHAT’S HAPPENING?
Campus is transitioning to a cloud instance for desktop/laptop backup services called Code42 Cloud.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Beginning on Monday, Feb. 1st, 2021 through March 31, 2021.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
CrashPlan is a product of Code42. To host more infrastructure in the cloud, OIT has negotiated a new plan with Code42 another product line of theirs called Code42 Cloud.  Code42 will still provide you with the same benefit of being able to select what files you would like to backup and later restore as needed. It provides a self-service way of retrieving information from other systems you use.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
All faculty and staff that are currently using CrashPlan on their Georgia Tech owned equipment or would like to use cloud service to back up your computer files.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
You can download, install and setup the Code42 Cloud client by following the directions here: Using Code42 Cloud

WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
Feel free to contact the TSO Help Desk (helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu).
