OIT has announced that some Exchangeusers in CoA, OHR, EDI, and GTRC had been experiencing problems with email from Monday, October 6, 2008 through Thursday, October 9. Symptoms included emails not being deliveredor emails delivered with blank messages. After investigating and making correctiveactions, they believe that the problems were remedied at approximately 4:00 PM, October 9. They are continuing to monitor the situation.
Update: OIT reported at 8:25 AM, October 13, that they have received no further reports of the blank emails or emails with only a winmail.dat file for the affected Exchange users since the afternoon of Thursday, October 9. They have received reports of excessive delays in Exchange email delivery and are investigating.
Update: OIT reported that on Friday evening, October 17, in an effort to clear up a few remaining Exchange email delay problems, permission inheritance updates recommended by MicroSoft's best practices analyzer were applied to the Housing, CoC, and EIS OUs. All new test messages seem to be going through properly.
