WHAT HAPPENED?
The GT LDAP service is unavailable.

WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Beginning at approximately 10:10 AM, Thursday, March 24, 2011.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
This is currently being investigated.

WHO WAS AFFECTED?

Anyone attempting to login to services that authenticate against the GT LDAP service. This includes GTED, CoC and campus VPN, and web sites that use the Georgia Tech Login Service, such as TechWorks, MyGaTech, and PASSPORT.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.

HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
No. OIT is actively working on a solution.

UPDATE:
OIT was experiencing server issues. They have rolled over to their other data center, and authentication is again working as of 10:30 AM, March 24, 2011.
