TSO will be migrating from Mailman 2 to Mailman 3 over the weekend of March 14th and 15th of 2026, and there will be some key differences in how mailing list users interact with their mailing lists. This will affect all users of the Mailman service who either own or moderate a list, as well as users who use the web interface to change their mailing list preferences.
Following the update, Mailman will utilize Georgia Tech credentials for login, increasing security and preventing the need to share mailing list passwords. When you visit the Mailman website, you will now log in by clicking the 'GT LOGIN' from the Sign in page.
An additional benefit of the upgrade is the ability to see all your mailing lists in one place, regardless of which email alias is subscribed. Instructions for how to do this will be added to the following Support article: https://support.cc.gatech.edu/services/mailing-lists
You can request a new mailing list by using the 'Request Help' form at support.cc.gatech.edu/gethelp. We ask that you include the following information:
- List name
- Description/purpose of the list
- Owner of the list
• Two CoC Employees who will be the owner/co-owner of the list - Moderator of the list
• Any additional CoC employees who may be moderators - How long the list will need to be in service (if known)
Additionally, as part of the increased security measures, new mailing lists will have archives disabled by default. You can read more about requesting a new mailman list here: https://support.cc.gatech.edu/services/mailing-lists
