As per the message below, OIT will be performing maintenance on My GaTech on Saturday, September 20, 2008, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. During this time, the OIT Zimbra email services will be intermittently unavailable.

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to take a few minutes and let you know what's happening now with My GaTech. We'll start with the next scheduled outage, September 20th 6am - 10am. During this time, we will be doing the following things.
1) Upgrading Zimbra to 5.0.9. Details can be found at http://pm.zimbra.com/pmpatch.php?patch=509&status=Released+%2808%2F18%2F08%29&rel=5.0&relName=Franklin
2) Upgrading the memory in mail2 (again)
3) Default domain for employees will be changed from mail.ecc.gatech.edu to mail.gatech.edu. This should not cause any problems or require configuration changes and has already been done to all students and many employees. mail.ecc.gatech.edu aliases will continue to exist so that mobile phone and other configurations will not be affected.
4) Backups will be changed to Auto-Grouped It's a Zimbra thing that will hopefully decrease the amount of time backups take.

* Soon we'll be starting the migrations from mail2 & 3, to other servers. These migrations will finish freeing up the backend mailstore storage to be reconfigured. More information will be coming on this soon.

Now we'll do the status updates. It's been a Very Busy Month. Kudos to the ECC Team who have worked so hard to make it all happen.

- All students are now on My GaTech with calendar enabled and 2GB quotas!
- Also, as you know we're nearing the end of the migrations from the Spectrum mailstores. There's a new website all about My GaTech named http://info.my.gatech.edu. You can easily get to it from the My GaTech login page. Please send in suggestions as to what additional information you would like to see on that website.You'll also notice that http://www.mail.gatech.edu/ has been depricated in preparation for it's retirement.

- Mail.gatech.edu can now be setup to be the imaps and smtps server, we're working on the new FAQ's and they'll be coming out soon.
- ZCO 5.0.9 is available on the Software Distribution site. Departments have had success deploying it with GPO's as well as with Landesk.

After we get done with the email migrations we're going to start concentrating on Calendar. Please be thinking about how you want to do calendar and how we can help. Every department is different in how they use calendar and what their needs are and we'll be happy to hear your suggestions & requests. We're also working with the other large universities that have already converted from CorporateTime to Zimbra.
