Scheduled Service Interruption
WHO IS AFFECTED BY THISINTERRUPTION?
All users of My GaTech(http://my.gatech.edu/). This interruption will also affect access viaOutlook, Thunderbird and other clients, in addition to any Web clients.
Effects to these users are:
- Users of My GaTech will not be able to send or receive e-mail during this time
People who send e-mail to users of My GaTech may receive a?mail delivery delayed? message
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
OIT is performing a system upgradeto My GaTech from version 5.0.13 to 5.0.15.
WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 6:00am to 10:00am
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO WHEN THESYSTEM IS AVAILABLE AGAIN?
Business as usual. Mail sentto My GaTech users during the period of this outage will be queued in thecentral systems and delivered after the system is in operation again. Nomail will be lost. If you did not previously have calendar, you will nowhave access to the calendar application.
HOW DOES THIS ACTIVITY BENEFITYOU?
This upgrade has these benefits:
Thisupgrade should eliminate the Network Service Errors and related duplicate emailmessages.
The5.0.15 Outlook connector is posted on the OIT Software download site (http://software.oit.gatech.edu).
Theupgrade includes various bug fixes.
