October 17, 2009, from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

WHO IS AFFECTED BY THIS INTERRUPTION?

Users of My GaTech/Zimbra services, including BuzzPort users who might try to access their email or any group or course calendars during this time. Effects to these users are:

• Users of My GaTech/Zimbra will be unable to access their MyGaTech/Zimbra email, calendar, or contacts during this time period.
• People who send email to users of My GaTech/Zimbra may receive a mail delivery delayed message.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO WHEN THE SYSTEM IS AVAILABLE AGAIN?

Business as usual. Email sent to My GaTech/Zimbra users during the period of this outage will be queued in the central systems and delivered after the system is in operation again.

HOW DOES THIS ACTIVITY BENEFIT YOU?

OIT is performing work to upgrade the current email system.

TECHNICAL DETAILS ABOUT THIS SCHEDULED SERVICE INTERRUPTION

During this planned outage, OIT will be upgrading to 5.0.19 from 5.0.16. This contains many fixes which include:

- Several fixes in iCal & CalDAV including Snow Leopard support

- Fixes a problem where Calendar goes blank (All events were there, but not viewable)

- Allows greater than 100 calendars (Shared or personal)

- All Day event reminders now show correctly

- Ability to link directly to Calendar

- If configured, Location or Resource will decline a double-booking

- Multiple locations allowed for a meeting

- Many ZCO fixes including:

- Private events show correctly in subscribed calendars

- Sent messages no longer show as unknown after SP2 is applied

- Fewer local failure notices and meeting request errors

- Outlook rules run automatically * Default rule of clear categories should be cleared (can be done via registry key or a popup will appear)

- Out of Office assistant works

- Microsoft Live Meeting supported

- LinkedIn Toolbar addin no longer causes server failure notices

ZCO 5.0.19 will be available for download for testing by the CSR's shortly.
