OIT has announced that they will perform an upgrade on the PassPort system between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, Wednesday, January 28, 2009. This will cause a service interruption, affecting users of the PassPort system. See the original message below for complete details.

Scheduled PassPort System Update

WHAT IS HAPPENING?
OIT will perform an update on the PassPort system (Personal Account Self Service
Portal- passport.gatech.edu).

WHO IS AFFECTED BY THIS INTERRUPTION?
All users of the GaTech PassPort system (https://passport.gatech.edu). During
this outage, users of PassPort will not be able to access the system.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
The upgrade will take place on Wednesday (1/28/2009) from 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. The
service interruption may only take a few minutes, but we have this hour
reserved in case of any unforeseen problems.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO WHEN THE SERVICE IS AVAILABLE AGAIN?
Business as usual. No action is necessary.

HOW DOES THIS ACTIVITY BENEFIT YOU?
During this outage, PHP (server-side HTML embedded scripting language) will be
updated / recomplied to work with GTED (Georgia Tech Enterprise Directory).
