Unplanned Service Interruption -Banner/Oscar/Buzzport/OSP Saturday 8/15/2009

- UPDATE

Approximately 12:30pm today, initial reports thatservices were not

consistently available for all users. Initial indications were that this

appeared to be limited so some off campus users. After further review the

team discovered one of our application servers wascausing the disruption

and this was removed from service which appeared toresolve services by

2:45pm. Off campususers attempting to use Banner forms can maintain

consistent connections via VPN or Citrix connection. Other reports

related to web/self service use appears to be isolatedand associated with

internet cache. Web users are encouraged to clear browser and internet

cache if they experience abnormalities with self-serviceor Buzzport.

Since 2:45pm today there have been no additional reportsreceived and all

monitoring appears to indicate systems are stable.

We recommend limiting any reporting use if possible toreduce load impacts

to the database. We will provide additional updates as conditions

change.
