OIT has announced that they will perform maintenance on the MyGaTech Zimbra email system on Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM. MyGaTech users will be affected by this maintenance. For full details,please see the message below.

WHO IS AFFECTED BY THIS INTERRUPTION?

All users of MyGaTech/Zimbra (http://my.gatech.edu/). This interruption will also affect access via Outlook, Thunderbird and otherclients, in addition to any Web clients.

Effects to theseusers are:

  • Users of My GaTech/Zimbra will not be able to send or receive e-mail during this time

·bull; Peoplewho send e-mail to users of My GaTech/Zimbra may receive a ?mail deliverydelayed? message

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

OIT is performing asystem upgrade to My GaTech/Zimbra from version 5.0.15 to 5.0.16.

Saturday, May 16,2009 from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon

WHAT DO YOU NEED TODO WHEN THE SYSTEM IS AVAILABLE AGAIN?

Business as usual. Mail sent to My GaTech/Zimbra users during the period of this outagewill be queued in the central systems and delivered after the system is inoperation again. No mail will belost. If you did not previously havecalendar, you will now have access to the calendar application.

HOW DOES THIS ACTIVITY BENEFIT YOU?

This upgrade has these benefits:

·bull; Once again able to view and revoke PublicShares.

·bull; Resolves issue where the week view of calendarin the web client sometimes goes blank.

·bull; Several improvements for Apple Calendar users.

·bull; If configured, resources no longer allow doublebooking.

·bull; IE 8 is now supported.

·bull; The5.0.16 Outlook connector is posted on the OIT Software download site (http://software.oit.gatech.edu). Westrongly recommend that you go to this version. We also strongly recommendapplying the latest Office 2007 service pack to improve Outlook performance.

·bull; The upgrade includes various other bug fixes.
