UPDATE: TSO has discovered the root cause of the issue and applied a temporary fix as of January 17th at 8:02pm. TSO will continue investigating to permanently correct the core issue.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?
The killerbee research cluster is unable to mount faculty home directories.

Affected servers:
killerbee1.cc.gatech.edu
killerbee2.cc.gatech.edu
killerbee3.cc.gatech.edu
killerbee4.cc.gatech.edu

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
TSO became aware of the issue at 11:37am, January 15th. The temporary fix was put in place at 8:02pm on January 17th.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
TSO has tracked the issue to the NFS share permissions on holder.cc.gatech.edu. The killerbee research cluster has been manually added to the share permissions to temporarily fix the issue.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
Faculty attempting to access their CC home directories on the killerbee research cluster.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
If Faculty need access to their home directory, they can follow the directions below to use samba -
