An outage is an unplanned system or service interruption and a maintenance event is planned system downtime of a system or service. Maintenance CCB 3rd Floor Networking Maintenance As part of the 3rd floor renovation, TSO is upgrading the current networking infrastructure on the 3rd floor. 
Outage Chilled water outage for CCB Data Center 247/HPCF At 11:45PM November 11, 2009, several GTISC servers reported high temperature alerts. A call to GT Facilities was initiated and TSO personal arrived onsite to begin investigating. The following server clusters were shutdown to reduce the heat load and will be brought back online in the morning:Sith clusterHebrides clusterara.cc.gatech.edu infrastructureGTISC personal shutdown several GTISC servers as well.The temperature began returning to normal levels. TSO will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional updates.
Outage CoC Network Slowness At 15:15 on February 24, TSO noticed connectivity and slowness issues within the CoC network. A server in the Samoa cluster was causing the problem. Samoa15.cc.gatech.edu has been taken off the network while we investigate the cause.
Maintenance Monitoring server move At 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 26, 2009, TSO will be relocating dudette.cc.gatech.edu from CCB 247 to KACB 2219 server room. During this time, server monitoring services will be unavailable. No user services will be affected.
Maintenance Configuration Mgt. Server move At 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 24, 2009 TSO will be relocating haven.cc.gatech.edu from CCB 247 to KACB 2219 server room. Haven, is the configuration management server and no users will be affected during this time.
Maintenance Development server moves At 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2009, TSO will be relocating locris.cc.gatech.edu and imperial.cc.gatech.edu from CCB 247 to KACB 2219 server room. Both servers are development environments, and no users should be affected.
Maintenance HelpDesk Ticketing (RT) Server Maintenance At 5:00 PM, Monday, February 23, 2009, TSO will apply a kernel patch to the web servers mud.cc.gatech.edu, cobblestone.cc.gatech.edu and ix.cc.gatech.edu. During this maintenance period the (helpdesk@cc) RT ticketing system will be unavailable during this time.
Maintenance Swiki, blog, and Windows domain Controller Server Maintenance and Moves At 5:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2009, TSO will apply a kernel patch to the web servers salinn.cc.gatech.edu and granite.cc.gatech.edu. During this maintenance period the swiki and coweb, arcthinktank, rim, and blogs web services will be affected by this outage. Also during this time, we will be relocating hoover.cc.gatech.edu from CCB 247 to KACB 2219 server room. Hoover is a redundant gt.buzz domain controller, no users should be affected by this move.
Maintenance Web Server and Windows Domain Controller Maintenance At 5:00 PM, Tuesday, February 24, 2009, TSO will apply a kernel patch to the web servers gemini.cc.gatech.edu, glenesk.cc.gatech.edu and leviathan.cc.gatech.edu. During this maintenance period the ta-app, rpt.cc.gatech.edu, and cmreg database will be affected by this outage Also during this time, we will be relocating carter.cc.gatech.edu and kennedy.cc.gatech.edu from CCB to KACB server room. carter is a redundant cc.gt.buzz domain controller, no users should be affected by this move. Kennedy is a redundant gt.buzz domain controller, no users should be affected by this move.
Maintenance Intranet Web Server Maintenance At 5:00 PM, Wednesday, February 25, 2009, TSO will apply a kernel patch to the web servers wildfire.cc.gatech.edu. During this maintenance period, which should be completed by 7:00 PM, February 25, intranet.cc.gatech.edu will be affected by this outage and no changes can be done to support.cc.gatech.edu and users will not be able to log into intranet.cc.gatech.edu. Also during this time, we will be relocating harrison.cc.gatech.edu, ace2.cc.gatech.edu and jackson.cc.gatech.edu from CCB 247 to KACB 2219 server room. Harrison is a redundant cc.gt.buzz domain controller. Jackson is a certificate authority, no users should be affected by this move. Ace2.cc.gatech.edu is a redundant front end mail server for College of Computing, no users should be affected by this move.
Maintenance CCB 1N network switch reboot At 5PM today, network switches on the North side of the 1st floor of CCB will be rebooted as they've become unresponsive to administrative logins. The network will be unavailable for about 5 minutes.
Outage TSO Virtual Machine Environment Outage - 7/3/2023 At 7:12AM on Monday, July 3rd, TSO discovered the virtual machine environment hosting instruction, research, and infrastructure virtual machines was having network issues and is currently in an unstable state. Many services are affected including cc.gatech.edu and several other websites, as well as instructional and research VMs.
Outage Blackberry Enterprise Service Outage At approximately 3:30 PM today, GTRI experienced hardware failure on one of their Storage Area Network (SAN) devices, which cause an outage to the Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES). It is expected to be operational again at approximately 5:30 PM.
Outage Localized Network Outage in CCB At approximately 8:15AM November 12, 2009, it was discovered that a switch in the first floor north data closet in CCB had failed. Users on that switch were re-routed to another switch and network service was restored by 9:10AM November 12, 2009.
