- As part of our strategic initiative to upgrade our servers and infrastructure, the web team has developed an enhanced website management interface to improve the process for updating faculty websites. We are asking faculty members to participate in testing to ensure the new application meets your needs and to provide feedback before the official rollout. If you are interested in testing, please send an email at tsoweb@cc.gatech.edu, and we will follow up with more information about the testing process.
- Prohibited Software
- Please be aware that USG has a prohibited applications and services list that cannot be used on Georgia Tech–owned endpoints or networks - https://gatech.service-now.com/home?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0044500. Although DeepSeek is currently the only foreign LLM specifically listed, additional policies are in development. If you have research needs related to these tools, please reach out to TSO so we can work with you and the appropriate campus teams to support your research while avoiding any compliance risks.
- CEDAR Storage
- As part of Georgia Tech’s Strategic initiative around data, Cost-Effective Data Access for Research (CEDAR) storage offering has been funded by the office of the Executive Vice President for Research (EVPR). This is an Enterprise-level border storage system that can be mounted anywhere on campus to store non-regulated research data. The first 10 TB of Cost-Effective Data Access for Research (CEDAR) storage is available to all Georgia Tech faculty at no cost. Read more here – https://pace.gatech.edu/cedar-storage/
- Windows 10 Operating System Extended support ends Oct 2026
- TSO is actively reaching out to users with options to upgrade or replace equipment.
- Mac OS 26 released

RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- The Instructional Team deployed a beefy 8xH200 server for the School of Computing Instruction, funded by TechFee. This machine will host open-source large language models to support the countless SCI TAs!
- Team Infrastructure worked tirelessly over the weekend to migrate the College’s Mailman service to an updated version of the software. - Skynet upgrades are in the works for TSO Research who have been meeting with the Skynet Admins to plan out the process.
- In preparation for the Mailman changeover, the HelpDesk has been developing documentation and participating in training to assist with the new tools.
- The TSO Web team has been performing patching as they prepare for upcoming projects, including the Faculty Site Replacement Project described above.
