Mac OS Catalina Upgrade
WHAT’S HAPPENING?
MacOS Catalina was released by Apple yesterday, October 7th, 2019. At this time TSO suggests that users do not upgrade to Catalina, as it will currently break Uniflow and portions of Adobe Creative Cloud, as well as any apps that are still 32-bit. TSO is reaching out to the Uniflow vendor and will test the Adobe CC applications for compatibility. This article will be updated when we believe it's safe to upgrade.
WHO IS AFFECTED?
Mac users with MacOS High Sierra or before.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
TechWorks & TimeOut to be Accessed via Campus Network & VPN
Starting August 8th, TimeOut and TechWorks will only be accessible from campus networks (LAWN and wired) and VPN (dept.vpn or anyc.vpn).
Georgia Tech’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) is reducing the risk of exposure for web-based services as part of its incident remediation plan and ongoing efforts to prevent future cyber attacks. Access to commonly used web applications such as TechWorks and TimeOut will become limited to Georgia Tech campus networks and VPN (virtual private network) starting August 8th, 2019.
